Happy Boxer, Smiling, on Turquoise

I just finished this painting this morning and am quite happy with it.  The original is on an 11x14x3/4" stretched canvas.  (Update:  Sorry, the original painting has been sold.

I finally got fed up with trying to keep up my website, dottiedracos.com, so I cancelled it.  It no longer exists, but my email, dottie@dottiedracos.com, does still works.  I realized that, with all the other venues where I show my artwork, I had redundant information on my website.  Plus, I was just having some technical problems with it.  I feel better having dropped it!

Boxer Portrait with Ball

I really like this painting!  I just finished it yesterday, and it's being picked up this weekend.  It's a custom painting of a beautiful young guy named Barolo.  Obviously, the original has been sold, but prints are available on my website.

Some days I think I'll never "get it," and then I get a painting like this that give me hope.  It's got good color, is "realistic" but not overly so, still "painterly," in my opinion.

Oh, and by the way, the "paw print" on his chest is real, not something I stuck in.  Pretty neat, huh?

Boxer Portrait, all Brown Face

This is a painting I finished rather recently. I took his photo at Portland Saturday Market I think in around September or October of this year. I think he's so beautiful. I've been taking quite a few photos lately of dogs at the market, which I hope to be painting over the winter break, so I'm looking forward to the break so I can do some serious painting without as many distractions as I have going on now.
