Borzoi Portrait

This is a painting I did of one of the borzoi's owned by a friend of mine. They're beautiful dogs, I think. I have another photo she sent me that I'll be doing before too long of one of her other pups, who's standing in a pond - a very elegant pose. I think it'll be on a large canvas, though.

Today I'm working on another cat: My cat, actually, whose name is Eliza Doolittle. She's a beautiful and very, very sweet slightly plump calico kitty, who's about five years old now. We adopted her when she was one, and she was so overweight at the time that when she lay on her side, her legs stuck out in the air. She's still "big-boned" but a much more reasonable weight now. She and our three little dogs all get along very well, except our pomeranian/pekingese mix torments her mercilessly, and she just complains and jumps out of his reach. What a sweetheart she is.

Well, I got way off the topic of the borzoi painting, but it was at the same time a reasonable segue in tomorrow's (or the next day's) painting, anyway.

Golden Retriever Portrait

This is a beautiful golden retriever I just finished this morning. I saw him at Portland Saturday Market in Oregon one weekend recently and asked for permission to photograph and paint him. Unfortunately, I didn't get the "parents" names, so I am listing him for sale. Perhaps you're the parents? Anyway, he's on 1/8"-thick hardboard, 8x10", and is available for sale on my website, http://www.dottiedracos.com/. If you wish, I would be happy to add 1.5" black wooden sides so he can be hung without framing at no extra charge.

Papillon Portrait, Black Pap this time

Wow, I'm on a roll today! Finally getting a few paintings listed. I'm trying; really I am. This little guy is a precious little papillon submitted to me by a friend for painting. It is not a commission but just a photo that I allow people to send to me in hopes that they can get a painting done at regular rather than commission prices! I almost always get around to painting the submissions. Obviously, there's no interaction between the "submitter" and me; otherwise, it would become a commission! Anyway, this is an 8x10x3/4" acrylic painting on canvas, and it's available on my website, www.dottiedracos.com.

Airedale Painting

Well, I've been away for a while -- but it's not that I'm not working, I promise!!! I just haven't been able to get many of the paintings I've been doing uploaded. Some even sold before I got a chance to upload them!! That's good. It means I'm getting known a bit more, I hope. Anyway, here's a beautiful airedale portrait that I finished a few days ago. As usual, he's available for sale on my website. The painting is acrylic on 16x20x3/4" canvas, and is $210, plus shipping.

German Shorthaired Pointer painting

This is another painting I finished this past week. It's also 8x10x1.5 on wood, sides painted black. I think these are some of the most beautiful dogs to exist. And from having one of the best friends of my life be at least part GSP, I know what loving, intelligent dogs they are, too. This painting is available on my website, http://www.dottiedracos.com/, and sells for $150.00. Clocks are also available.

Affenpinscher Portrait

This is an affenpinscher, which from research I did, is probably of German origin, and means something like "monkey face," and AKC says its face ought to be somewhat "monkey-like," or words similar to that. I don't see it myself. I think it's just a really pretty little dog with a very cute little bottom lip. Anyway, it's 8x10 on hardboard, with 1.5" black inset sides added for hanging. It sells for $150 and is available on my website.

Boston Terrier

I love this one! I just finished it last night. It's for sale, so here are the details on it. It's 24x30x3/4" acrylic on canvas, with the image extending around the sides, so a frame is not necessary if you don't want one. It's $400.00 plus $12.00 shipping.

This is "Cat" the cat

Here's a precious cat painting I just finished for a customer, who's giving it to her friend who is mourning the recent loss of "Cat" the cat. She was quite old and very much loved from what I hear. Cat is already SOLD, but prints (or a clock) are available from my website, www.dottiedracos.com. It was a pleasure to be given the honor to paint this memorial painting.

A Mighty Bright Corgi Portrait

Here's one of the brightest paintings I've done of a Corgi named Pun'kin. She was a commission so is already sold. She's 9x12" acrylic on canvas, and she's available as a print or as a clock on my website, www.dottiedracos.com.

Yellow Lab Puppy

Here's my latest painting I've done. It's been a while since I've been able to paint due to the ill health of a family member, but now I'm back at it again!

This little yellow lab is a brave, exciting new direction for me: larger canvases. He's acrylic on 24x30" canvas and sells for $400.00. He can be seen "in dog" at Club K-9, 7427 N Curtis Ave., Portland, Oregon , 97217, Phone: 503-289-7472.

Prints are also available at my website, www.dottiedracos.com or www.wildwildthings.com.

A recently completed commission - Bowzer

Here's Bowzer, a beautiful lab. He was painted on for me a rather large canvas, 24x30". He was a wonderful model, I think. He's already sold, but he's available as a clock on my website, www.dottiedracos.com.
For the next few weeks, in addition to completing more commissioned paintings, I'll be doing a separate group of what I hope are really fun paintings for a little showing at a great coffee shop here in Beaverton, OR, the Iron Mutt. It should be fun; they'll all be for sale. And some of the proceeds from the sales go to area animal shelters, such as Bonnie Hayes, where we adopted our most recent family member, our pomeranian, Harry P. Barker, Harry for short.

Grizzly Bear

A grizzly bear painting. I decided I needed a bit of a dog break, so here's a wildlife painting I did. Look closely; he appears at first to be sleeping, but he's really watching you! It's acrylic on heavyweight 8.5x11" paper and comes matted in an 8x10-opening 11x14" mat, enclosed in a clear acetate resealable sleeve. $75.00

Rhodesian Ridgeback

I tried to be a bit looser with this painting than I was with the previous two days' ones. It feels better. Again, this rhodesian ridgeback painting is 8x10 gessoed hardboard, with 1.5" recessed black sides. The price is $75.00.

Dachshund lying on Blue Rug

Another dog painting. Seeing a pattern yet? This is, once again, a dog painting, a very beautiful little red dachshund hound that I painted. Obviously, I love dogs and love painting them. This painting is acrylic on 8.5x11" heavy cardstock paper and is matted in an 11x14 mat, ready for framing. The price is $75, plus shipping, and is available, as usual, on my website, www.dottiedracos.com.

Papillon Portrait

SOLD I really struggled with this one. Hope it doesn't show too much. But I am somewhat pleased with the outcome. It's acrylic on gessoed hardboard, 8x10" with 1.5" recessed black sides. Price is $100.00. It's available for purchase on my website.
